Recent years have seen a lull in video games based on The Lord of the Rings, but the forecast finally seems to be shifting. A number of titles based on Tolkien's works appear to be in development, news that is likely to excite many The Lord of the Rings fans who have been waiting for new experiences. The wait may have been long, but a new era of The Lord of the Rings video games is on the horizon. Mordor game This is more vital when it comes to losing scenarios. While this game is not difficult, it is highly dependent on the random combination of top-decking new cards (and hoping for the right suit to show up) and the Plot deck draw. Some Plot deck events are friendly (sometimes, a card literally plays as “Nothing Happens”), while others advance the game clock. When this causes a loss condition, it’s easy to fire up another game quickly when you are running solo.

By the time WB Games removed the lootboxes months later, the damage was done.

Vivendi published The Fellowship of the Ring rather than EA, who would go on to release the fantastic Two Towers and Return of the King games. It's easy to see why Vivendi never put out another Lord of the Rings title, because The Fellowship of the Ring feels undercooked in just about every regard.
